Shea Murphy has spent a lifetime in the horse world and lived to tell the tale. What began as a childhood horse obsession matured into years of barn life, pony shows, and front-row exposure to the peculiar intensity of equestrian culture,  where emotions run high, opinions run higher, and a missed lead change can feel like a personal betrayal.

Based on the East Coast, Shea lives with her endlessly tolerant husband, her children, and a small menagerie of animals who firmly believe they are in charge. She and her daughter survived the pony years together, giving her firsthand experience in early mornings, late nights, and the uniquely competitive social ecosystem known as Pony Moms.
